NexWerk Blog

Thoughts from the craft

Software Craftsmanship Wiki

A while ago, when starting the whole idea of NexWerk, I installed in our main server, this blog (wordpress), a wiki engine (dokuwiki) and a static page as the main entrance to NexWerk.

After a while I actually got rid of the wiki as I was more or less the only person using it, and not really for that many things, it was dying.

In recent times though, the Software Craftsmanship movement has been taking off and I saw more and more the need for compiling the information, that gets discussed by different people (be it in conversations, conferences, mailing lists), together in one place.

It wasn’t till a few days ago, in the session held by XtC together with the SPA 2009 conference, that Ade and myself felt this nostalgia for the good old times of the C2 wiki.

A day later, in a chat conversation we decided to try this out with the NexWerk wiki and see if we can lighten the fire of the passion for sharing information between the Software Craftsmanship community…

Update: The softwarecraftsmanship wiki changed it’s URL after having a chat with Unclebob and our friends from 8thLight :)

The wiki is available for everyone to look at, register, and help in contributing with techniques, practices, ideas, that make you better at the work you do!
